ArkHive’s key aim is to use the latest 3D imaging technology to help people to learn about their own and other people’s heritage

The secondary aims/spin-offs are:

  • to educate people to make better decisions specifically related to surveying and mapping
  • generate new technology and drive the development of technology to shape how we can interact with digital data in everyday activities, initially focussed on heritage tourism and interactive learning in a 3D spatial context, understanding place and where you fit instils confidence and helps you move forward.

WHO/WHAT is ArkHive?

ArkHive is an enthusiasts organisation, whose combined knowledge and expertise in the area of rapid 3D imaging is focussed on the documentation of heritage sites using the latest measurement tools and technologies. The key outlet supports the free distribution of digitally documented information for heritage sites throughout the UK. The overall vision is to enable everybody to experience the key sites of cultural significance in the development of the human race and ignite the enthusiasm required to understand the past so that people are inspired to take the lessons and move forward. ArkHive will commit to developing the skills to achieve this including leveraging a thorough understanding of the latest 3D measurement tools and how to disseminate that data to the public.
